Cyber Essentials in Action

This is an engaging, interactive card game designed to help organisations strengthen their cybersecurity readiness. This tabletop-style game immerses participants in real-world cyber incident scenarios, enabling them to practice incident response planning in a dynamic and collaborative setting.

How it works

Participants take on different roles within their organization — such as business owner, Data Protection Officer (DPO), IT or marketing/sales — and respond to a variety of cyber threats. Each game session unfolds through:

  • Attack and Defence cards – Refreshing foundational cybersecurity concepts to get teams warmed up for scenario role-play.

  • Scenario and Task cards – Presenting realistic cybersecurity incidents that are either common in organisations, such as ransomware, or emerging, such as AI-enabled attacks and guiding teams through best-practice responses aligned with CSA’s SG Cyber Safe programme.

  • Discussion and Reflection – Facilitating debrief sessions to analyze decisions, uncover gaps, and reinforce pre-emptive cybersecurity measures.
